Iconography is an ancient art practice traditionally for deplicting religious imagery.

It is prevalent in the Orthodox tradion and becoming more and more popular in the western churches. I have made a number of icons on commission and have found learning about the processes involved in using egg terpora and guilding with gold leaf riveting.
